Lisa's Quilts

Don't tell Lisa's dad that he's getting this great Bargello for Father's Day!
This is quilted with Jodi Beamish's "Maple Syrup" pantograph and King Tut varigated thread.

Lisa didn't want anything to distract from her collection of featured squares. I just stitched in the ditch and did some straight rows in the borders. It sounds simple, but not all quilts can stand up to perfectly straight lines like Lisa's can. Her seams didn't waver! This has wool batting. Wish I could see it after it gets washed!

Connie's Class Samples

Connie is a local teacher who strives to present finished quilts to inspire her students. Her piecing is impeccable and it is always a humbling challenge to try to enhance her tops with quilting. I did leafy swirly things in the light and squared off motifs in the dark areas of this Roman Stripe quilt.
The color palette is a fascinating blend of neutrals!

The white background fabric in this Rainbow Star really shows off the dense quilting.

Unfortunately my camera can't pick up the beauty of the Isacord rayon thread. It shimmers right along with the Fairy Frost fabric.

Kelsi's Double Wedding Ring Quilt

My niece, Kelsi, is getting married in June. My mom, sisters and I collaborate to make a quilt for each marriage. Kelsi and her mom chose the fabrics, and the pattern but she hasn't seen it since then. Do you think she'll like it?!!

Instead of sewing circles and melons, we appliqued the pieced arcs onto square background pieces. I recommend this method - especially with a group effort!
I thought you'd be interested in seeing "ruler work". This is how I maintained a smooth, curved line on all of the arc edges.
