Joyce made these blocks many moons ago in a class. It was supposed to be a quilt-as-you-go - but she got stalled after the quilting step. 
So she joined them with lattice, provided a "regular" backing, and I requilted them. 
It worked pretty well and her daughter is getting a beautiful quilt.
